At THERAPY: Sauna + Plunge, we believe in the power of holistic healing. Our products combine traditional practices with modern techniques to promote overall wellness.
We work closely with clients to bring their design vision to life. Each sauna and cold plunge is meticulously designed using advanced 3D modeling practices. Renderings and detailed drawings are provided & approved before fabrication begins. Fabrication is completed offsite, with final delivery and assembly taking place onsite.
Our clients describe their desired design and we apply the best practice methods until the final design is delivered.

Selecting the right materials is critical to the sauna’s Durability, Efficiency & Aesthetic Appeal. We present our recommended options based on quality & client needs.
Our Harvia commercial grade electric sauna heaters are capable of +185 degree temperatures in a short amount of time.

Our custom saunas are designed using premium Cumaru wood, lovingly called 'Brazilian Teak.'
The wood's tight grain and natural oils make it incredibly dense and durable. Its impressive resistance to rot, decay, and minimal expansion & contractino ensures it’s perfect for sauna & cold plunge construction.

The union of Cumaru hardwood & precision sliding dovetail joints maximizes heat retention.
Cumaru’s dense grain & natural oils resist heat absorption far better than Cedar or Nordic Spruce, while the dovetail construction eliminates gaps between staves, locking warmth inside & ensuring uncompromising performance.

Our cold plunge pools maintain a consistent temperature thanks to a cutting-edge water chiller system. Unlike traditional cold plunge pools or pods that rely on ice, this advanced chiller ensures steady temperatures and can be customized to suit each user's preference.
Traditional electric heaters consume approximately 90% of their max rated kW during warmup, then drop to 50% after reaching the target temperature. In contrast, infrared saunas heat the body directly, reaching max temps instantly while operating at a fraction of the energy cost of conventional heaters.
Kelsey holds a degree in Industrial Engineering & brings a professional foundation in process improvement, engineering design, and both residential & commercial construction. In 2019, he transitioned from the corporate sector into entrepreneurship, channeling his expertise into high‑end custom residential projects. His focus on outdoor living spaces—spanning decks, concrete work, custom outdoor kitchens, I‑beam trellises, roofline extensions, & finish carpentry—established his reputation for blending technical mastery with lifestyle‑driven design.
Our journey into contrast therapy—sauna & cold plunge—began in 2021 to reduce stress, boost endorphins, & ease muscle recovery. After moving from Dallas to San José del Cabo, we discovered a gap: few places offered access to this powerful wellness practice. In 2025 that challenge sparked an opportunity.
Leveraging Kelsey’s love for engineering, design, and construction, we are introducing contrast therapy to an untapped market. Today, we not only build premium sauna & plunge experiences, but also provide education on how to use them effectively for their transformative health + wellness benefits.

Traditional Barrel Sauna construction using a Convex & Concave interface between boards. Even in arid climates the boards will separate from expansion & contraction which allows heat to escape the sauna.

This sauna operates in an arid climate with consistent temperature and humidity. After approximately four years of use, the shell now exhibits noticeable gaps between the boards. The staves and wall boards are secured by steel compression bands, which naturally allow for expansion and contraction over time, leading to this gradual separation.

As the compression bands expand, the stave joints begin to separate, creating gaps that allow heat to escape from the sauna. This not only reduces the internal temperature but also increases operational costs. A simple rule to remember is: if light is visible from the inside, the sauna lacks proper insulation. Or as we like to say, 'If you see light coming in, you're seeing money going out."

Our Dovetail Stave Joints have the ability to expand and contract while not separating. There is a a small gap between the widest parts of the joint. This creates a more consistent internal temperature which in turn reduces operating costs.
We also apply a Tongue & Groove joint in the floor, side walls and ceiling to allow for extreme expansion when necessary.
